What are Tokaido Tournament Cut Karate gis made from?
Tokaido makes these Tournament Cut Karate gis from their own special "number 10 cotton". This special cotton, which they grow themselves, makes a durable but comfortable cotton canvas. We are told it is the only cotton canvas that the Japanese government allows to be called "Ultimate canvas".
How does a Tournament Cut Karate gi differ from a regular cut Karate gi?
Tournament Cut Karate uniforms have shorter sleeves and pant legs, which makes it harder for an opponent to grab these during Kumite. Some Karate practicioners (Karateka) also call this the Kumite Cut.
What are ways to personalize this gi?
Tokaido offers this gi with various patches. The Tokaido "Red Fist" logo is quite popular, but this gi can also come with the JKA lgoo (Japan Karate Association), or an ISKF logo(International Shotokan Karate Federation).
